Shopping-Place Experience

Wednesday 28 October 2009

I’ve talked in previous blogs about the need for owners to find new ways to add to their bottom line, and I remarked on the fact that it’s no longer about cutting costs since that’s just dumbing things down. No, it’s time to wise up to the fact that a trip to the town centre isn’t as good as it used to be. That’s because we are valuing different things these days – value and values.

Consumers feel used and abused by a system that apparently rewards failure. Bank bonuses that are still being paid out after the $13 trillion bail-out doesn’t seem fair to the average Joe who is de-leveraging himself daily to take control of his finances.

Aren’t you? Have a think about it.

We’re spending our money more wisely and becoming smarter shoppers. We’re aligning our spending with our values, aren’t we? It’s not about bigger, it’s about better. It’s not about consuming the world’s resources anymore, it’s about using them more wisely.

You’ve changed. They’ve changed. Consumption has changed. Don’t be surprised if you and your friends and family all begin to see that trip to the shopping centre a little differently from now on. It’s time to drag the shopping place experience into the 21st Century and remember that value+values = happy shoppers.

Give us a call – we know how to re-energise your asset. We know what it takes to go from mindless consumption to mindful consumption and how that adds to your bottom line.

The longer you linger, the more it will cost.

Mike.
